Congratulations on your wedding plans and thank you for considering The
Salieri String Quartet.
A string
quartet is comprised of two violins, one viola and a cello and there is an
immense library of "classical" music written for this combination. While the
main part of our repertoire is taken from the traditional material, we also
perform arrangements of more contemporary pieces (ragtime, movie theme
music, country "hoe-downs" etc.) as the mood requires. The quartet may be
augmented by the addition of other instruments upon request. (For example,
we have added a trumpet or two for the bride’s entrance on occasion.)
Our current
library contains over four hundred arrangements and our travel folders
contain about two hundred pieces. We can help create practically any mood
from among the travel folders, but we like to plan ahead whenever possible.
If you have a special song you would like us to play, we will attempt to
locate a GOOD arrangement of it. This process can take from a matter of
minutes (if it is already in our repertoire) to several weeks if we have to
commission an arranger for the task.
We try to do
everything we can to make your wedding and party go exactly the way you want
it to go so feel free to discuss music, or timing, or costuming or whatever
with us. We normally perform in formal black and play for about 50 minutes
with a 10 minute break each hour. During this break we sometimes mix in with
guests, often discovering some preference for a particular piece or style.
With advance discussion, we can accommodate many variations on what has
become traditional for the quartet.

that we perform. Amplification,
while not generally necessary, is available for an additional charge.
